SAP S/4HANA Finance Master Data Specialist(SME)

Tasks:

• The SAP S/4HANA Finance Master Data Specialist is responsible for overseeing the creation, maintenance, and governance of finance-related master data within the SAP S/4HANA system.

• This role is critical for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of key financial data objects such as General Ledger (GL) accounts, Cost Centers, Profit Centers, and Internal Orders, which are essential for accurate financial reporting and decision-making in an SME environment.

Main tasks:

Master Data Management:

• Create, update, and maintain financial master data objects, including GL accounts, Cost Centers, Profit Centers, Internal Orders, and more.

• Ensure that financial master data is accurate, complete, and aligned with the company’s chart of accounts and financial reporting structures.

• Coordinate with the Finance department and other stakeholders to gather requirements and validate master data.

• Manage the lifecycle of finance master data, including the creation, activation, deactivation, and archiving of data objects.

  Data Governance and Compliance:

• Implement and enforce data governance policies and procedures for finance master data.

• Ensure that finance master data complies with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.

• Conduct regular audits and data quality checks to identify and resolve inconsistencies or errors.

• Maintain documentation for finance master data processes, policies, and procedures.

  Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for improving finance master data management processes and systems.

• Collaborate with IT and Finance teams to implement system enhancements or new functionalities related to finance master data.

• Support the standardization and automation of finance master data processes.

  User Support and Training:

• Provide ongoing support to end-users for finance master data-related queries and issues.

• Develop and deliver training sessions and materials to educate users on finance master data processes and best practices.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for finance master data management within the organization.

  System Integration and Projects:

• Participate in SAP S/4HANA implementation, upgrade, or migration projects, with a focus on finance master data.

• Support data migration activities, including mapping, cleansing, and loading of finance master data during project phases.

• Collaborate with project teams to ensure that finance master data requirements are accurately captured and implemented.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Accuracy and completeness of finance master data.

• Compliance with data governance and audit standards.

• Timeliness in the addressing finance master data request and issues.

• User satisfaction with finance data-related services.

• At least 6+ years of experience in SAP master data management, specifically in the finance domain (e.g., FI/CO modules).

• SAP certified.

• High-level experience* in a given field of processes & technologies

• Academic background or comparable professional experience

• Medium-level experience with S/4 HANA implementation

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, particularly in managing finance-related data objects.

• Experience in an SME environment is preferred.

• Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA, with in-depth knowledge of FI/CO modules and finance master data objects.

• Strong understanding of financial processes, including General Ledger, Controlling, and financial reporting.

• Familiarity with data migration tools and techniques (e.g., LSMW, SAP Data Services).
