We are looking for the next possible date for a

Medical coding specialist (m/f/d)

• Plausibility check and supplementary coding of diagnoses, procedures including all DRG-relevant facts based on the medical records (digital patient file and paper file) with final billing approval for correct and timely DRG billing of inpatient treatment cases, as well as coding of outpatient treatment cases

• Processing of MD review cases starting with the dispatch of documents
• Case-related coding and support for all professional groups involved in coding
• Plausibility checks as part of external quality assurance
• Close cooperation with patient management, checking and processing DTA requests
• Participation and involvement in strategic and organizational process topics relating to medical controlling, including Helios Region South (the latter only as part of full-time work)

• You have completed training as a medical documentation assistant (m/f/d) or healthcare and nursing assistant/medical assistant with completed further training as a coding specialist (m/f/d)

• Alternatively, you have an equivalent qualification in case management/coding, ideally supplemented by clinical work experience in the field of DRG documentation
• Sound knowledge of ICD and OPS coding, the German coding guidelines and billing regulations in accordance with the flat rate per case ordinance
• Good teamwork and communication skills as well as organizational skills and flexibility
• Legally required proof of immunization against measles

The Helios Clinic for Cardiac Surgery Karlsruhe was founded in 1995 as a specialist cardiac surgery clinic and has 96 beds, including 24 intensive care and 16 intermediate care beds. The operating theater comprises 5 operating rooms, including a modern hybrid operating room for so-called TAVI (heart valve replacement therapy). With over 1800 operations a year, the clinic is one of the largest specialist cardiac surgery clinics in Germany.
