First things first: when it comes to IT, we like to be ahead of the curve. That means data centers are also a thing of the past for us and the transformation to cloud services is largely complete. So why do we need your cloud expertise? To continue improving our performance and that of our cloud architecture, applications, and processes. To automate our systems and applications, scale them and make them secure. And to support other sites and departments of the Fresenius Group as they migrate to the cloud.

We are continuously modernizing our cloud landscape from a strategic perspective – for everything operational, we have an external partner. That’s why we need your expert know-how for our focus topics of design, architecture and strategic development of our increasingly automated services. We now cover the entire spectrum of cloud services: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Container as a Service (CaaS). But we know “more is possible”, like with artificial intelligence (AI), platform services and containerization.

As an IT service provider, we are not detached from the core business, but communicate intensively with the business units, as we are very close to their business. As with all IT at Fresenius, the major challenge for us is that the various locations and business areas within the group are so different. But that’s also what makes it interesting!

Our work in Cloud Services requires intensive meetings with various stakeholders. In the team (where colleagues are located in Europe, USA, and Asia), we communicate in German and English – and always with mutual respect. There’s no “top-down mentality” here.

Willingness to change

Our job is fast-paced, everything is constantly changing, and you have to keep up. That’s why we’re always thinking ahead and breaking new ground. In the healthcare industry, more than any other, there is a raft of guidelines that are constantly evolving. These include the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), the guidelines for quality assurance in the production of substances and pharmaceuticals. Plus, the community and manufacturers provide us with information regarding the latest developments, and we communicate with other companies about their best practices.

Resistance

We are the professional home for people who aren’t deterred by resistance and who find solutions that aren’t always obvious. For example, the use of artificial intelligence and chatbots is polarizing – and yet this development is unstoppable. The fact that we have many interfaces with other departments and coordinate with them on a regular basis is appealing, but it requires harmonizing sometimes divergent interests. In the end, everyone has to be happy.
