The Center for Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine in Wuppertal (80 beds, approx. 4,500 inpatients and approx. 15,000 outpatients per year) focuses on neonatology (perinatal center level 1), pediatric cardiology/pneumology and neuropaediatrics and offers the acquisition of the specialties pediatric cardiology, neonatology, neuropaediatrics, as well as the additional advanced training "pediatric pneumology" and "pediatric gastroenterology". The clinic also focuses on the treatment of endocrinological diseases and children and adolescents with type I or II diabetes, has a social pediatrics center and has expertise in the field of paediatric palliative medicine.

There is close cooperation with the clinic for children and adolescents at the Helios Klinikum Niederberg in Velbert, where junior doctors are trained on a rotation basis. Around 1800 patients are treated as inpatients and there is a perinatal focus.
