We are looking for a Social Worker in Psychiatry (m/f/d) at the Helios Clinic in Pirna in the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy with immediate effect.

  • Psychosocial & socio-legal counseling: Supporting patients and relatives with psychological and social challenges as well as with applying for benefits (e.g. rehab, social assistance, care degree).
  • Discharge management & aftercare coordination: Planning and organization of inpatient discharge including outpatient care, rehabilitation measures and follow-up care.
  • Initiation of rehabilitation & participation services: Advice on and initiation of rehabilitation measures, occupational reintegration or social therapy services.
  • Participation in the multi-professional treatment team: participation in ward rounds, team conferences, documentation and recording of services together with doctors, nurses, therapists, etc.
  • Leading therapeutic groups: Instruction of group formats such as alcohol withdrawal or social skills training - for psychosocial stabilization.
  • Networking with external providers: cooperation with outpatient & inpatient providers (e.g. withdrawal services, residential facilities, social services) for holistic care.

What you bring with you

  • Degree in social work (B.A., M.A. or diploma): Completed degree in social work or comparable - basic requirement for the job description.
  • Experience in health-related social work: Ideally with practical experience in a clinical environment, e.g. hospital social services or psychosocial care.
  • Sound knowledge of social legislation: Confident handling of SGB-V/IX/XI - e.g. on rehabilitation, participation and discharge management.
  • Psychosocial counseling skills & empathy: Professional support in mentally stressful life situations - resource-oriented and client-centered.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work in a team & self-organization: Active participation in a multi-professional team, structured documentation and independent work.
  • Resilience in dealing with mentally ill people: Ability to act in a stable and reflective manner in challenging situations - even under high emotional stress.
