For the Helios Klinikum der Maximalversorgung and the Human Medicine program at the Health and Medical University Erfurt, we are looking for you as of July 1, 2026 as

Chief Physician and W3 Professor of General and Visceral Surgery (m/f/d).

• As Chief Physician (m/f/d), you will be responsible for the overall medical, organizational and strategic development of your clinic as well as the training of your medical staff
• As Director of the General and Visceral Surgery Center, you will be responsible for the strategic development of the Helios Cluster Thüringen Mitte and, together with the hospital management, will play a key role in shaping the further expansion of an interdisciplinary cross-location center
• In addition to the further development of the certified visceral oncology center, a declared goal is to drive forward the expansion of the Central Germany Robotics Center with Da Vinci systems at 2 locations and to create an interdisciplinary abdominal center together with the Clinic for Gastroenterology. In addition, the focus on oesophageal and pancreatic surgery, hepatobiliary and deep rectal surgery will also be expanded at the site in the future
• You will represent the specialty of general and visceral surgery in patient care at the hospital as well as in direct academic connection in teaching and research in the study program at the Health and Medical University in Erfurt

• We are looking for a personality with a nationally and internationally visible clinical and academic profile in general and visceral surgery
• You can demonstrate your professional and academic qualifications as a specialist in general and special visceral surgery as well as a habilitation or equivalent scientific achievements
• With your expertise, you cover the entire surgical spectrum of general and visceral surgery. You have excellent clinical experience and have social skills and empathy in dealing with all professional groups and patients
• Excellent communication skills, a high sense of responsibility, commitment and assertiveness as well as a high level of organizational skills are among your strengths
• You have collegiality, sensitivity and a role model function as well as strong social skills in dealing with other professional groups, patients and referring physicians
• You are an excellent general and visceral surgeon - you impress with your specialist knowledge and outstanding quality of results
• You stand for competence and personality in your field - your patients are in the best hands with you right from the start and will recommend you to others
• You think in terms of business management - you are convinced that good medicine can be excellently enhanced through cost-effectiveness and efficiency
• You are actively involved in academic teaching and have a visible scientific profile with supra-regional networks within your research focus areas
