Chief Physician/Director (m/f/d) of the Clinic for Pneumology, Allergology, Sleep and Respiratory Medicine and Professorship of Pneumology at Witten/Herdecke University

• You are a specialist (m/f/d) in internal medicine and pneumology as well as intensive care medicine, sleep medicine and, ideally, allergology in order to master the complete spectrum of pneumology. They impress with their expertise and excellent quality of results
• You have a high level of social competence and maintain a respectful and empathetic approach to patients and their relatives
• Business thinking and acting are a matter of course for you
• As a leader with the courage to innovate and convincing professional and personal qualities, you know how to motivate with a goal-oriented leadership style
• You are an enthusiastic university lecturer (m/f/d) and scientist (m/f/d) – the appointment requirements for the professorship are the habilitation or an equivalent scientific achievement in the field of internal medicine/pneumology. In addition, we expect relevant evidence of research and teaching achievements (publications, third-party funding, proof of successful teaching)

The Clinic for Pneumology, Allergology, Sleep and Respiratory Medicine covers the entire spectrum of modern pneumology with the exception of pneumological transplantation medicine. All diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the field are kept in the clinic. All diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the field are comprehensively implemented here. The clinic has all relevant specialist certifications and further training authorisations in the fields of internal medicine, pneumology, intensive care medicine and sleep medicine.

The clinic operates an intensive care weaning unit as well as a weaning care unit ("Lebensluft"), which has been established as a model project and implements innovative concepts for weaning from ventilation. The sleep medicine centre rounds off the clinical care.

Together with the Clinic for Thoracic Surgery (Director: Priv.-Doz. Dr. Christian Biancosino), the Clinic for Pneumology forms the Bergisches Lungenzentrum.

A wide range of cooperations in the inpatient and outpatient sectors ensure comprehensive patient care.

The Chair of Pneumology at Witten/Herdecke University is located at the Helios University Hospital Wuppertal, Department of Pneumology, Allergology, Sleep and Respiratory Medicine. This is a joint selection process.
