The Helios Weißeritztal-Kliniken, located in Freital in the district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains, is an academic teaching hospital at the Technical University of Dresden. The Clinic for Anesthesiology, Intensive Care Medicine and Pain Therapy performs approx. 7,000 anesthesias per year using all modern general anesthesia techniques (balanced, combined, TIVA). In addition, spinal anesthesia (spinal anesthesia, peridural anesthesia and CSE) and peripheral sonography-assisted nerve blocks are used. In addition to an anaesthesiologist-led intensive care unit, an intermediate care unit is managed in collaboration with the hospital's internists. Other areas of activity include the care of post-operative and chronic pain patients. Our clinic has full authorization for further training in anaesthesia (5 years). In addition, the clinic has authorization for further training in anaesthesiological intensive care medicine (2 years) and special pain therapy (1 year).
