Functional Goal:
The (Senior) Manager Controlling R&D Biosimilars will be responsible for operationally running the monthly and quarterly financial closing for the dedicated reporting unit(s), including monthly/quarterly closing and annual forecasting incl. system uploads, business partnering activities for the assigned set of global cost centers & cost categories, as well as financial valuations for new project approvals & portfolio reviews for the in-house project pipeline.
The job scope extends to leading global cost tracking & standardization including split and delineation between cost types and proactively aligning with respective budget owners and stakeholders.
You will interact with various departments in the BU Biopharma and Corporate Finance & Controlling Teams.
Global Controlling & Finance Operations:
Lead monthly / quarterly operational closing and reporting for the dedicated reporting unit(s) including FX analysis, set-up of management accruals and submissions into corporate systems including variance commentary;
Business partnering for the assigned set of global cost centers & cost categories, including annual forecasting/budgeting and actuals costs monitoring;
Global consolidation and mapping of key external vendor costs and alignment with the various stakeholders including consistency checking and safeguarding of proper split and delineation between cost types;
Support the preparations of regular and ad hoc financial reports to senior management with regards to the the dedicated reporting unit(s);
FX variation analysis vs budget / forecast;
Submission of actual and forecast data into the global reporting system;
Calculation and regular check of the actuals and forecast pricing calculations as per the company’s transfer pricing guideline;
Interfacing within the BU Finance team and Finance shared service center.
Financial valuations in-house project pipeline:
Support the I&D Biosimilars project leadership team with financial valuations for new project approvals relating to the in-house project pipeline;
Support the I&D Biosimilars team with regular portfolio review financial assessments and simulations relating to the in-house project pipeline;
Interface with BU Finance team with regards to valuation methodologies & ongoing toolkit enhancement relating to the financial assessment of in-house R&D projects.
Support the continuous improvement of processes & reporting toolkit, as well as regularly exchanging knowledge and best practices within the BU Biopharma finance team.
Bachelor or master’s (preferred) degree in economics, business administration, finance or equivalent business degree;
Experience working with SAP and BI;
Fluent communications skills in English, both written and oral;
Min. 6 years business finance experience in an international company;
Excellent skills in MS Excel & PowerPoint, ideally combined with good knowledge of SAP and experience with the common reporting systems (SAP BW, Analysis for Office);
Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
Strong business and commercial acumen, international mindset and ability to drive forward topics;
IT affinity and interest in new technologies;
Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines;
Ability to manage multiple tasks and/or projects simultaneously;
Ability to build and maintain effective communication and engage stakeholders inside and outside of Finance, actively enforcing collaboration.
