(Senior) Manager Sourcing Management (m/f/d)

The (Senior) Manager Sourcing Management is responsible for supporting the overall sourcing strategy, framework, and governance model definition for the IT organization. This role plays a key part in optimizing and consolidating the global IT provider landscape, ensuring the effective and consistent sourcing of all IT-related services and items.

Leveraging specialized knowledge and maintaining strong relationships with preferred sourcing partners, this role primarily focuses on external IT support and consulting services. It involves selective operational collaboration with IT leadership, procurement teams, and external vendors to monitor supplier performance and ensure alignment with technology strategy and business objectives.

Main Responsibilities

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Assess market trends and recommend new partnerships and next-generation sourcing models aligned with business needs.

  • Proactively evaluate vendors in comparison to market standards, seeking ways to enhance cost-efficiency and service offerings.

Tactical Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate across functional-driven IT domains to streamline supplier relationships, vendor contracts, and global IT purchasing categories.

  • Collect business and technology requirements to optimize IT sourcing services for cost savings and operational efficiency.

  • Support the execution of sourcing initiatives and key supplier engagements, including supplier base streamlining, regional delivery models, and offshoring deals.

  • Drive end-to-end service provider selection, including RFP development, evaluation criteria definition, contract negotiation, and vendor approval processes.

  • Collaborate with the Global Procurement Organization and Sourcing Management teams to ensure sourcing activities and RFP processes comply with corporate procurement frameworks and best practices.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Manage strategic partners and administer sourcing workbenches, providing guidance on technology-related contract lifecycle management (SAP Ariba or Coupa), including issue resolution, approvals, reviews, renewals, and negotiations.

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive vendor performance summary, including a preferred supplier list, agreements, lessons learned, and process improvement recommendations.

  • Implement and oversee IT supplier governance, including regular audits, data-driven vendor performance monitoring (SLAs), governance tools, templates, and strategic relationship management.

  • Maintain strong relationships with strategic partners, including senior supplier executives (CxOs/Delivery Heads of key suppliers) and internal stakeholders (Strategy, Program, and Project Managers), ensuring 360-degree vendor performance feedback and alignment with the technology roadmap.

  • Ensure supplier-delivered goods and services meet quality and organizational standards.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Promote continuous improvement and professional development within the IT Sourcing team.

  • Ensure ongoing alignment between business stakeholders, contract owners, and suppliers to set expectations, evaluate performance, and drive continuous improvements.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Strong familiarity with IT sourcing and procurement frameworks.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to effectively convey organizational concepts, program goals, and business objectives to key stakeholders.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT Service Management, focusing on service quality improvement, ITSM tool/platform migration, IT sourcing & vendor management, and/or process standardization projects. Experience in Pharma, Life Sciences, or Healthcare industries is preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience in strategic IT project management and contract lifecycle management using SAP Ariba or Coupa.

  • 2+ years of experience managing teams and collaborating with top management stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts and work effectively in complex, global matrix organizations, overcoming challenges related to remote work, cultural differences, and time-zone coordination.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Relevant certifications such as SAP Ariba, PMP, Prince2, COBIT, and ITIL are highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with frameworks such as ITSM, CMMI, TOGAF, ISO/IEC 20000, Lean IT, and IT/OT is a plus.

  • Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or Cherwell is preferred.

  • Proficiency in managing departmental budgets and resources in complex IT organizations is an advantage.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent communication abilities (English fluency required) for clear, results-driven discussions.
