Then you are exactly right as a midwife/ delivery assistant (m/f/d).

From 2022, the traditional training to become a midwife/midwife's assistant will be replaced by the dual study program. This will enable uniform standards and open up many new opportunities.
As a practice partner of the Technical University of Dresden, we are looking for a student in the dual study program in midwifery on 01.10. of each year.

• As a midwife/delivery assistant (m/f/d), you will independently accompany and care for women and families during pregnancy, birth, the postpartum period and breastfeeding or the first year of a child's life

• You are responsible for the management of a normal birth, but must also recognize complications during birth
• Caring for newborns after birth and advising new mothers and fathers
• master the daily challenges of shift work, including weekends and public holidays
• act as a team together with the obstetrics and neonatology doctors
• They take into account the specific life situations, social, biographical, cultural and religious background, sexual orientation, the special needs of people with disabilities and chronic illnesses as well as the stage of life of the women and families being cared for
• promote the health of mother and child through their care, support their independence and respect their right to self-determination

• A-levels or a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification (not a technical college entrance qualification/technical baccalaureate) or the qualifications listed in Section 10 (1) of the Midwifery Act

• a contract for practical training between the student and the cooperation clinic
• Health suitability
• Proof of an internship of at least 4 weeks by the time of matriculation (01.10. of a year) in one of these areas: a) clinical work with a focus on obstetrics, maternity ward or gynecological ward b) non-clinical field of activity of the midwife in a birthing center, in a midwifery practice or with freelance midwives c) registered gynecologist or obstetrician with a focus on prenatal care and/or prenatal diagnostics
• Interest in the care and support of women during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period
• Interest in the care of healthy newborns
• Social skills, ability to work in a team, organizational skills, openness/empathy, resilience and flexibility

• A monthly salary and a maximum weekly working time of 38.5 hours

Training is based on theory at the university and practice at our clinic.

Theoretical teaching takes place at the Technical University of Dresden. It is organized as a dual primary qualification course, i.e. studies and training are interlinked in terms of organization and content. The course comprises seven semesters and has a modular structure. It consists of two study sections. You will complete your practical training at the Helios Vogtland-Klinikum Plauen. The following specialist areas of inpatient care are covered in a total of 3,000 hours:

Maternity ward
maternity ward
Non-surgical ward (gynecology department)
Operating theater
Pediatric clinic (premature infant ward)
In addition, outpatient care is provided in the following areas:
Gynecological practice (prenatal care area)

External practice (freelance midwife/maternity nurse)
