This role is responsible for designing and leading enterprise‑scale Datacenters, VMware, Azure, and hybrid cloud architectures. It focuses on modernizing infrastructure through cloud migration, virtualization improvements, and automation. The position requires deep expertise in Azure, VMware, datacenter technologies, and security‑by‑design. The architect also guides transformation programs, defines target-state designs, ensures governance and compliance, and provides strategic leadership to technical teams and stakeholders.
1. Architecture & Design
Develop high‑level and detailed architectures for datacenter, VMware, Azure, and hybrid environments.
Define target‑state infrastructure architectures covering compute, storage, networking, and platform services.
Create solution blueprints, reference architectures, and integration frameworks for hosting services.
2. Transformation & Modernization
Lead large‑scale infrastructure transformation initiatives such as datacenter consolidation, cloud migration, and virtualization upgrades.
Evaluate legacy workloads and define optimal migration approaches (rehost, replatform, refactor).
Promote adoption of Infrastructure as Code, automation, and DevOps-driven operational practices.
3. Azure Cloud Architecture
Design Azure landing zones, governance models, identity integration, and enterprise network topology.
Architect Azure IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid solutions using services such as Azure Arc, Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
Ensure environments are optimized for cost, performance, scalability, and resilience.
4. VMware & Virtualization
Architect, optimize, and enhance VMware environments, including vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and vRealize Suite.
Drive capacity planning, cluster architecture, HA/DR strategy, and lifecycle management.
Integrate VMware platforms with Azure, including Azure VMware Solution.
5. Datacenter Architecture
Design both physical and virtual datacenter infrastructures covering compute, storage, network, backup, and disaster recovery.
Evaluate and recommend hosting technologies, hardware platforms, and modernization strategies.
Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for availability, redundancy, and compliance.
6. Security, Compliance & Governance
Embed security‑by‑design principles within all hosting and infrastructure solutions.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement identity, access, encryption, monitoring, and governance controls.
Ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks such as GDPR and ISO 27001.
7. Stakeholder Management & Leadership
Serve as the technical lead for hosting initiatives, guiding engineering teams, and external partners.
Translate business requirements into scalable technical designs and communicate architectural decisions effectively.
Provide thought leadership on hosting technologies, cloud adoption, and emerging trends.
Strong expertise in Azure architecture, including networking, identity, governance, and workload migration.
Deep knowledge of VMware technologies (vSphere, vSAN, NSX, vRealize).
Proven experience designing enterprise datacenter architectures.
Hands‑on experience with hybrid cloud, Azure Arc, Azure VMware Solution, and Azure Migrate.
Understanding of networking, storage, backup, DR, and security architectures.
Familiarity with automation tools (Terraform, ARM/Bicep, Ansible, PowerShell).
Experience leading large-scale transformation programs.
Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred Certifications
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP).
TOGAF or a similar enterprise architecture framework.
ITIL Foundation or higher.
