Meet our Frembassadors: Matheus Alcover
Interview |

Fresenius Holding | Bad Homburg, Germany | Digital Human Resources

My role and my department:

I am a Senior Manager HRIS in Corporate Human Resources at Fresenius. I work as a Functional Lead in the global Workday implementation project, supporting the company's digital HR transformation.

My area of expertise:

My focus is on HR technology, especially the implementation and evolution of Workday. I combine technical know-how with change management and project management to harmonize and digitize HR processes worldwide.

My most unusual habit at work:

I often write down flashes of inspiration from logosophy next to my work notes – so I record project ideas and personal reflections at the same time.

Who I would like to swap with:

I would like to swap places with someone from the field of cyber security. I find the dynamics of this field and the direct importance for the security of the company very exciting.

My most used emoji:

🫶 – it's just perfect for expressing gratitude.

My “hot take” for work:

For complex topics, face-to-face exchange is unbeatable – some discussions are difficult to conduct remotely and require more time and depth.

This is indispensable to me at work:

Definitely my two screens. They are indispensable for project work, comparisons and parallel analyses.

Project or activity that I have enjoyed most in my current job so far:

Working on the global Workday implementation project. I enjoy working with an international team to harmonize structures and design solutions that make a real difference for over 45,000 employees worldwide.

Cliché about my job that is actually true:

“HRIS means endless configurations and data reconciliations.” That's true, but that's precisely why it's appealing — because a large, functioning whole emerges from many details.

This music gets me through the working day:

Brazilian lo-fi beats. To me, they strike the perfect balance between lightness and focus — just what I need to get through the workday feeling motivated and relaxed.

Most frequently used word in my job:

“Governance”. In large projects, it is key to establishing structure and clarity in complex contexts.

My professional motto:

“Reducing complexity means creating quality.” – I am motivated by the idea of turning complicated topics into something simple, understandable and usable.

One of the biggest challenges in my job, but one that I actually like very much:

Change Management. It is often difficult to convince people to adopt new systems and processes, but seeing acceptance and enthusiasm grow makes it particularly rewarding.
