Senior Process Expert (m/f/d) - Manufacturing Execution System (MES) & SAP PP

About the role:

As a Senior Process Expert (m/w/d) Manufacturing Execution System (MES)  & SAP PP (Plan-to-Produce)you will play a central role in the digitalization, standardization, and continuous improvement of batch manufacturing, review, and release processes across our global production sites. This includes defining and enhancing electronic batch records (EBR), ensuring MES integration with SAP & Automation layer, supporting new product introductions, and aligning MES templates with global business process standards. Beyond solution design, you will act as a bridge between manufacturing, quality, IT, and automation teams—translating operational needs into robust digital workflows, driving system harmonization, and contributing to strategic initiatives such as Pharma 4.0, real‑time data availability, and global MES governance.

Your assignments

• Lead the design and implementation of SAP PP (Plan-to-Produce) solutions with MES integration, ensuring robust support for end‑to‑end manufacturing processes.
• Project Management for MES / eBR implementation projects.
• Consult for SAP PP and MES best practices to optimize manufacturing operations.
• Proactively work with relevant Departments and project team members to lead and support the deployment of MES processes including establishment of EBRs within our manufacturing sites.
• Analyze business requirements and develop end‑to‑end use cases for SAP with integrated MES capabilities.
• Lead and support the development of all necessary project and system support documentation including but not limited to designs, configuration, procedures, testing etc.
• Provide timely and accurate information and status updates to functional leaders on project progression.
• Identification of project risks and escalation by initiating suitable countermeasures.

Your profile

• Successfully completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Five plus years of experience with manufacturing operations and SAP end-to-end processes (Plan-to-Produce).
• Expert Working experience of MES implementation & integration with SAP & Automation layer in Pharmaceutical industry.
• Project experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
• Demonstrated ability to develop written IT processes and procedures.
• Good knowledge of the requirements for the implementation of projects in the validated environment (GAMP 5, CSV & CSA)
• Excellent written and spoken English, knowledge of German or other languages an advantage.
• Willingness to travel (limited) to participate in workshops at international locations.
