Network Engineer Data Center - Cisco ACI and Cisco Network Infrastructure (m/f/d)

To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced Network Engineer with a strong customer and team orientation who ensures the stable, highly available and future-proof operation as well as the continuous development of the Cisco-based network and data center infrastructure, with a special focus on Cisco ACI.

You will be responsible for the operation of the central LAN and data center networks as well as their secure connection to perimeter and service infrastructures in compliance with existing corporate and security policies.

Your responsibilities:

• Ensuring the smooth, highly available operation and further development of the Cisco LAN infrastructure (Campus & Core)

• Responsible for the operation and further development of the Cisco data center network infrastructure with Cisco ACI (Fabric, APIC, Spine/Leaf architecture, tenants, VRFs, EPGs)

• Implementation and further development of network, segmentation and security concepts in accordance with corporate policies

• Ensure consistent interaction between campus network, data center, firewalls, and connected platforms

• Management and technical coordination of external service providers in the Cisco and data center environment

• Use, maintenance and further development of monitoring and management systems

• Ensure documentation, versioning, and backup of network and ACI configurations

• Independent and timely processing of incidents, changes and service requests in first- and second-level support

• Analysis and remediation of complex faults (e.g. routing, switching, ACI policy model, end-to-end connectivity)

• Independent documentation of work results and use of knowledge management platforms

• Contribute to the standardization, automation and optimization of network and data center operational processes

Your qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field

• At least 5 years of professional experience in enterprise network and/or data center environment

• Excellent knowledge of network topologies, routing, switching, VLAN, VXLAN, and BGP

• Solid practical experience with Cisco networks (campus, core, WLAN)

• Solid knowledge of Cisco ACI (APIC, fabric design, tenants, VRFs, EPGs)

• Experience with automation and templates (e.g., ACI policies, REST API, Ansible is an advantage)

• Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent)

• Project management experience in data center migrations, ACI implementations or network modernizations

• Strong analytical skills and a structured work approach as well as an independent and responsible work style

• Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
