Volunteering in patient care

Do something for and with people?

We are looking for you to volunteer at the Helios Park-Klinikum Leipzig.

You can volunteer during the day as a patient guide (m/f/d) or on the ward/at night in the night café.

• You will have one-to-one conversations with patients about their wishes and concerns

• You take patients on walks or do small shopping errands
• Reading aloud, playing, doing handicrafts, puzzles with the patients and simply being there for them
• Cognitive and movement exercises (fine and gross motor skills, exercises for everyday use)
• Act as a patient guide (accompany patients on the day of admission)

• You are emphatic and can listen

• Interest in volunteer work
• Willingness to interact with other people
• Legally required proof of immunization against measles

• Induction training (basic medical knowledge with on-site training)

• Annual further training for employees: Hygiene, resuscitation, refreshing volunteer knowledge regarding clinical pictures, social law background (=Helios volunteer training)
• Reimbursement of travel expenses / expense allowance by individual arrangement
• Participation in summer party, Christmas party, ward parties
• Supervision appointments 2-3 times a year and exchange of experience with experts on site

Possible areas of work are

on the ward during the day - by individual arrangement with the ward

as a pilot: 7:30-11 a.m.

in the night café from 19:00 to 23:00 or from 19:00 to 02:00
