Senior Consultant SAP BW Operations & Development (m/f/d)

We are a diverse department with members in Germany, India, Mexico and China, supporting everything from collaboration solutions based on Microsoft and Atlassian to advanced analytics & reporting solutions and state-of-the-art HR IT systems based on Workday. We closely coordinate our areas of responsibility and strategies with our business partners. Our role is to ensure efficient project and platform management to drive the technology-based success of our business.

We are looking for a highly experienced technical expert to join our SAP BW Operations & Development team, who will play a key role in the operation of our central data warehouse at Fresenius and who will also contribute to the further development of the landscape in the coming months and years, e.g. towards Datasphere or SAP BW/4HANA. We promise a highly motivated, very professional working team, in an exciting, challenging and international environment of a rapidly evolving and modernizing IT at Fresenius.

This position can be filled in Germany or India.

Your assignments

• Together with the team, you will act as the central point of contact for SAP BW operations responsible for topics such as

• Maintenance and support of all technologies and services in SAP BW,

• Identification and management of continuous improvements,

• Planning for technology-related projects incl. preparation of cost estimates,

• System Performance Management,

• Data volume management incl. data tiering and nearline storage support,

• Supervision of compliance with development guidelines.

• You will also plan and carry out upgrades, service packs or EHPs, import SAP Notes, e.g. for the connected SAC tenants and take over third level support when things get tricky.  

• In your projects and daily work, you closely collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and teams, such as SAP Basis, SAP ECS (RISE), FLS/SLS Support, application teams and business users.

Your profile

• Degree with an analytical focus, e.g. mathematics or (business) informatics or a comparable qualification

• Roughly 10 years of experience in SAP BW Operations & Development

• Deep technical understanding with 360-degree technical skill in SAP BW, in particular:

• SAP BW Operations & Development (BW 7.5x on HANA and/or BW/4HANA)

• Usage of HANA 2.0 database along with SAP BW

• All ways of data extraction from SAP/Non-SAP sources

• Data Tiering / Nearline Storage

• Eclipse, Calculation Views, AMDP Script and SQL

• ABAP / ABAP OO, Web Dynpro for ABAP

• Transport Management

• Ideally: Knowledge in Datasphere and/or Databricks

• A committed team player and active co-thinker who scores with quick comprehension and considerable problem-solving as well as very good communication skills in English, good German skills are a plus
