As Head of IFRS Policy Department (m/f/d), you will be responsible for Group-wide accounting principles in accordance with IFRS and ensure their uniform, compliant and economically sound application. In this key role, you will be the central technical contact for complex accounting issues and accompany strategic corporate decisions from an IFRS and HGB perspective.
Overall responsibility for the Group's IFRS policy topics, including documentation and governance
Development, maintenance and further development of the Group-wide IFRS accounting guidelines
Technical assessment of new and amended IFRS standards, including impact analyses and implementation
Fundamental decisions on complex accounting and valuation issues according to IFRS and HGB, including evaluation and use of modern technologies (e.g. AI)
Advising specialist departments, segments and subsidiaries as well as supporting new business models
Technical support in the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS and participation in financial reporting, in particular in the notes
Support for M&A transactions, restructurings and special projects from an IFRS perspective
Single point of contact for auditors, external consultants and regulators, including enforcement proceedings
Leadership, development and management of the virtual IFRS policy department as well as participation in internal training courses and expert committees
Degree in economics with a focus on accounting or comparable qualification
At least 15 years of relevant professional experience in industry and/or consulting; Big 4 experience and WP exam desirable
Very in-depth knowledge of IFRS standards and their practical application; Good knowledge of the German Commercial Code (HGB)
Deep understanding of consolidated and individual financial statement processes, financial reporting and committee requirements
Experience with IT systems and processes, ideally SAP (ERP, BW, consolidation), internal controls and certification processes
High seniority, confident appearance and strong decision-making and assertiveness
Structured, independent and solution-oriented way of working with strong analytical and conceptual skills
Strong communication skills, project management skills and enjoyment of professional exchange
Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
