For the Clinic for Pneumology, Sleep and Respiratory Medicine in Bonn, we are looking for a Senior Consultant in Pneumology (m/f/d) to start on January 1, 2026 or earlier.

• Modern endoscopy incl. flexible and rigid bronchoscopy, EBUS, EBUS mini-probe, slim bronchoscopy
• Interventional therapies such as stent implantations and endoscopic lung volume reduction (ELVR)
• Weaning and ventilation unit with close multi-professional collaboration (including three respiratory therapists)
• Active involvement in shaping the planned Bonn Lung Center and the strategic orientation in the context of lung cancer screening
• Legally required proof of immunization against measles

• Specialist (m/f/d) in internal medicine and pneumology with several years of clinical experience
• Proven leadership qualities with the ability to lead a multi-professional team professionally and help shape its organization
• Willingness to further develop the content, structure and strategy of the clinic
• Enjoy interdisciplinary collaboration, especially with thoracic surgery, oncology and radiology
• Own areas of interest (e.g. weaning/intensive care, endoscopy, oncology) are expressly welcome

The Clinics for Pneumology, Sleep and Respiratory Medicine at the Bonn and Siegburg sites are listed in the NRW hospital plan with the "Complex Pneumology" service group. A total of 4,000 inpatients with pneumology and respiratory-specific DRGs are treated at both sites each year.

Both sites are DKG-certified lung cancer centers (approx. 350-400 primary diagnoses/year) and have an endoscopic focus (including an Interventional Pneumology section). At the Bonn site, the formation of a supra-regional lung center is planned in close cooperation with the Clinic for Thoracic Surgery (CA Prof. Dr. J. Schmidt). A strong focus with regard to the lung cancer screening program starting in 2026 is planned with the expansion of pneumological endoscopy, among other things.

We offer the full range of pneumology services including all modern endoscopic procedures (flexible and rigid bronchoscopy, EBUS, EBUS mini-probe and slim bronchoscopy, interventional therapy, including stent implantation and ELVR) as well as a weaning/respiratory unit. Three respiratory therapists are assigned to the clinic.
