Training as an OTA / surgical assistant (m/f/d)

Starting on 01.03.2026 or 01.08.2026, you can start your three-year training as an OTA / surgical assistant (m/f/d) at our in-house OTA school at Helios Klinikum Krefeld.

• A three-year apprenticeship, which is divided into a school-based and practical part

• You will learn and carry out department-specific activities, such as assisting with operations
• You will acquire knowledge in the proper preparation and follow-up of surgical procedures as well as department-specific documentation
• You will be involved in the organization and coordination of work processes in the operating theatre
• You will put current theoretical knowledge into practice

• Completed training as a nursing assistant (m/f/d), a secondary school leaving certificate with two years of vocational training, an intermediate school leaving certificate or a (technical) high school diploma

• Ideally, you have already completed a one-week internship in the operating theater; if not, we will be happy to arrange an internship with us
• You have an interest in medicine and technology and a high level of concentration combined with a persistent way of working
• You are characterized by your commitment, reliability and ability to work in a team
• You want to work in a great future-oriented profession and enjoy helping people
• Legally required proof of immunization against measles

• A training allowance in accordance with the collective agreement, 1st year of training € 1,473.90 gross, 2nd year of training € 1,525.65 gross, 3rd year of training € 1,742.08 gross

• 29 days of vacation, an additional non-smoking vacation day and a traditional day (Rose Monday)

The Krefeld training center covers the areas of training, further education and continuing education. This includes: a school for nursing professions, an ATA school, an OTA and an MT school, the specialist area of further education and training; it offers extensive further training at Helios Klinikum Krefeld and, in cooperation with the Helios training centers, various further training courses (e.g. geriatrics, practical instruction).
