Fresenius employees have planted the “Fresenius AllStar Forest” in Schmitten im Taunus. With each sapling planted, our company symbolically thanks employees who have been with the company for ten, 20, 25, 30, 35 or 40 years for their commitment. 

Around 30 employees have planted around 1,400 native sessile oaks and silver firs in the Taunus region. The reforestation will continue in the coming years to counteract forest damage caused by drought and bark beetles. In addition, apprentices will take over the maintenance of the reforested areas.

“With the AllStar forest, we are honoring our long-standing employees. We are showing social commitment and helping to reforest the forest - in the middle of the Taunus, our home region. I am therefore very pleased about this initiative, which fits in perfectly with Fresenius. As a healthcare company, we are committed to helping people. And we can only do that if we are also committed to our environment,” says Dr. Michael Moser, Fresenius Management Board member responsible for Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, ESG, Human Resources and Fresenius Vamed.

Fresenius has been based in Bad Homburg and the surrounding area for almost 100 years and has strong ties to the Taunus region. At that time, company founder Dr. Eduard Fresenius moved the production plant from Frankfurt to the nearby spa town. The new “Fresenius AllStar Forest” is located in the immediate vicinity of the company founder's former hunting lodge, which was also used by his foster daughter and successor Else Kröner as a weekend and vacation home. The Else Kröner-Fresenius Foundation is currently renovating the house extensively with the aim to create a retreat and workspace for scientists.
