Environment, Health & Safety Management

General responsibilities

Within the Fresenius Group, Environment, Health & Safety Management (EHS) is responsible for applying, ensuring compliance with, and continuing to develop regulatory requirements in the fields of occupational health and safety, chemical safety, and environmental protection.  It serves an advisory role to all other functional areas of the corporation and acts as an integral strategic and tactical partner to the departments.

EHS not only provides support in compliance with external environmental and health and safety regulations, but also in implementing environmental programs and preparing for third-party audits, e.g. the certification of the dialysis clinics’ quality management system under ISO 9001. In addition, EHS develops risk controls and rolls them out in sites which have not yet been certified.

Quality Management

General responsibilities

The proven quality of our products, services, and treatments is essential to providing optimal medical care. Therefore, for the well-being of the patients and the safety of our employees, all processes are subject to the highest quality and safety standards. Quality Management in the Fresenius Group follows three primary objectives: identifying value-creating and efficient processes which align with customer needs, monitoring and steering these processes using KPIs, and improving processes.

The team monitors the production of our medical products and handles problems in a hands-on manner close to the source – from the analysis of potential causes through the development and application of solutions. In addition to quality control, our responsibilities include coordinating and conducting third-party audits and monitoring in-process and final inspections.

Quality Management also initiates measures to improve processes and quality. This involves training employees, qualification and validation of production systems, processes, and methods, as well as the identification of potential improvements and the continuous refinement of technical and organizational workflows.
