Partnerships with universities

Fresenius has a range of partnerships with German and international universities. Below we share some examples of the different forms this cooperation can take as well as some specific projects and activities.

Harvard Business School

The Fresenius Top Executive Program is an international, company-specific program for the professional development of executives, focusing on leadership, change, and globalization. The participation of all our business segments facilitates a shared understanding of leadership and strategic challenges across the Group. We carry out this program in cooperation with Harvard Business School.

In Schweinfurt, Fresenius Medical Care works closely with the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS). As part of this program, students can participate in a wide range of activities such as factory tours, company excursions, lectures held at the university, and subject-specific semester projects.

The program encompasses the following degrees:

The students attend the regular degree-program lectures and events during the semester and take the examinations for their program between terms. In addition, they work for the company several hours per week during the semester. Between terms, they spend up to ten hours per week at the company. All elements of the degree program which can be combined with this work (e.g. term papers, projects, practical training, thesis) are carried out in cooperation with the partner company whenever possible.

University of St. Gallen

We conduct the Fresenius Strategic Management Skills Program in cooperation with the University of St. Gallen’s Executive School of Management, Technology & Law. This global HR development program focusing on functional strategy and change management is aimed at middle management as well as high potentials. Besides providing training, the program helps to forge networks and transfer what is learned across the boundaries of different companies by forming international learning tandems which continue after the instruction has ended.
