Expert Support for the Global Human & Labor Rights Program

Temporary Replacement for 1 year

For our Fresenius Medical Care global program on Human and Labor Rights, we are looking for an expert with strong record of experience in the area of implementation of Human Rights Due Diligence in global corporations.  In your temporary role e.g. as consultant, secondee, temp agent or temp employee (July 2021 approx. July 2022) you will support our global organization in the further development, and implementation of our Sustainability Program, in particular the Global Human and Labor Rights Initiative.

  • Support of the program lead “Human and Labor Rights” with expert input reflecting international labor standards and industry good practices:
  • during development of and internal alignment on global policies on the topics of remuneration, working time, freedom of association and collective bargaining, grievance mechanism/complaint handling process;
  • support/execution of awareness-raising campaign for managers;
  • conceptual development & preparation of materials for internal trainings (leadership team & HR functions) on:
  • global policy “Prohibiting discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment and retaliation”
  • employee grievance mechanism/complaint handling process
  • setting-up a global reporting system to track the status of implementation of program deliverables
  • participation in team calls, Steering Committee calls, and workstreams calls as appropriate
  • Contribute to the activities of other sustainability workstreams:
  • Expert support on development of the global equal pay guideline/process
  • Support with the gap assessment of company HR processes to ensure inclusivity/non-discriminatory practices
  • Expert support on the risk assessment for Tier-1 suppliers i.e. process for the selection of suppliers and evaluation of their input
  • Strong track record of experience with the implementation of Human Rights Due Diligence in and/or provision of respective consultancy services for multinational companies, preferably with large operations in the US
  • Background in social sciences or law
  • Experience in healthcare industry desirable (incl. health services, med tech)
  • Profound knowledge of relevant legislation in countries with FME operations and insights into upcoming initiatives in particular in EU and Germany
  • Fluency in English and German
  • Strong communication skills to deliver complex messages clearly incl. experience with senior management communication
  • Analytical, detail oriented, pragmatic approach
