Business Unit Generics

Next to our experienced team of employees working in the Biosimilar Business Unit, we are building up an entity for the Business Unit Generic Drug & Complex Formulation. Concretely we will centralize the Global Team of Business Development and Global Alliance Management for the Business Unit Generic Drugs & Complex Formulations, all related to products that are fully or partially developed and/or manufactured by third party business partners.

Main Tasks:

All tasks described below have Global scope

  • Manages In licensing deals from initiation until execution of negotiations with identified 3rd party suppliers for IL-opportunities considering the best deal type, most favourable timelines (first-to-market), quality and commercial terms
  • Scout and identify new business development opportunities to expand the existing Portfolio via In-Licensing (IL)
  • Drive and lead the Commercial evaluation of external IL-opportunities
  • Support the negotiation of Licensing Agreements to close the deal
  • Prepare briefings and business cases for management approval
  • Manage existing alliances and establish long-term professional relationships with potential partners
  • Support the partner intelligence system developed by BD team
  • Represent Fresenius Kabi at industry conventions and conferences

 Secondary Tasks:

  • Monitor the market, competitors, and trends in Fresenius Kabi business space
  • Generate and collect new project ideas (patent expiry, gap analysis, external offers, life cycle management etc.) and valuate them as an input in the Fresenius Kabi´s decision process
  • Take ownership of IL-projects and liaise with different functions to ensure the IL-project timelines on track

Special Tasks / Additional tasks:

  • Ad hoc request such as portfolio assessment of M&A targets

Qualification and Experience:

  • Pharmaceutical / Science / Medical degree required (PhD preferred) AND / OR Master Degree (MBA or equivalent). 
  •  10 years of Industry experience
  •  Candidate must have at least 3-5 years’ experience in the field of Business Development, Licensing of generic drugs and/or associated fields.

Requirements / Knowledge to fulfil the position:

  • Strong knowledge of FDA regulations and US market for Generics
  • Strong knowledge of EMA regulations and EU market for Generics
  • Good knowledge of PhM regulations and markets for Generics
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and leadership skills required
  • Strong team player (open, supportive to peers)
  • Solution oriented, balancing strategic thinking and strong execution sense
  • Organised while being reactive and having the sense of urgency
  • Multicultural oriented
  • Proficient usage of MS Office package
